On September 18th,the"Guangzhou High end Medical Device Industry Chain Supply and Demand Matching Activity"was held at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Conference Center.The theme of this event is"Accurate Connection between Supply and Demand,Empowering High Quality Development",building a"one-stop"communication platform for the integration of elements in the medical device industry chain,supply chain innovation chain,and constructing an industrial ecosystem for coordinated development of"government,industry,academia,research,and financial services".
This event is organized by the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology in collaboration with the Guangzhou Development and Reform Commission and the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission,organized by the Guangzhou Biological Industry Alliance,and co organized by the Biological Island Laboratory and Singularity Medical Technology Co.,Ltd.
Seize the Blue Ocean of High end Medical Device Industry
As an important central city in China,Guangzhou leads the country in terms of medical level and resources.There are 58 tertiary hospitals in the city,accounting for 40%of the total number of tertiary hospitals in the province.Rich and excellent medical resources endow Guangzhou's high-end medical device industry with broad application scenarios,promoting the rapid growth of the high-end medical device industry chain.
High end medical devices are a huge industry"blue ocean".In 2022,China's main operating revenue of medical devices reached 1.3 trillion yuan,becoming the second largest market in the world.High end medical devices are also a key industrial chain in Guangzhou,with strong innovation leadership and industry driving power.
In recent years,Guangzhou has cultivated more than 2000 characteristic medical device enterprise clusters represented by Da'an Gene,Wanfu Biology,Jinyu Medicine,Weili Medical,Maipu Medical,etc.,covering sub fields such as inspection and testing,high-value consumables,biological agents,equipment,3D bioprinting,etc.,forming a scientific city,knowledge city,international biological island,Guangdong Medical Valley,Guangzhou International Medical Port The spatial layout of the high-end medical device industry is supported by the Baiyunshan International Medical Device Innovation Park of Guangzhou Pharmaceutical.
As of the end of 2022,there are over 1650 medical device production enterprises in the city,ranking first in the province.More than 5400 Class II and Class III medical device registration certificates have been approved,and the industrial scale,number of enterprises,and innovation platforms are among the top in the country.
At the event,more than 20 tertiary hospitals,including Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital,Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine,First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat sen University,and Guangzhou First People's Hospital,as well as nearly 200 key enterprises in the medical device industry chain,as well as over 300 representatives from well-known universities and research institutes,attended the event.
On site,13 projects were collectively signed,with an intended signing amount of 106.5 million yuan,which will add new assistance to Guangzhou's efforts to seize the"blue ocean"of the high-end medical device industry.

In his speech,Gao Yuyue,Deputy Secretary General and First Level Inspector of the Guangzhou Municipal Government,Secretary of the Party Group and Director of the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology,pointed out that Guangzhou is steadfast in promoting"industry first,manufacturing industry as the city",promoting the digitalization,networking,intelligence,and green development of the medical device industry,accelerating the industrialization of innovative achievements,and encouraging medical institutions to purchase near local layout,prioritizing the procurement of qualified products from Guangzhou,Jointly enhance the resilience and competitiveness of the high-end medical device industry chain.
